"Police Quest III: The Kindred is an adventure game produced by Jim Walls for Sierra Entertainment, and released in 1991. It is the sequel to Police Quest II: The Vengeance and is part of the Police Quest and SWAT series. For the third installment of the series, Sierra brought on veteran film and television composer Jan Hammer, who is most likely best known for his work on Miami Vice!

For this EP release, veteran video game composer Rich Douglas (Insurgency, Shadowgate , and Lifeless Planet) has orchestrated four of Jan Hamers awesome cues from the Police Quest III score while bringing its sound up to date slightly to make it sound fitting in a Jerry Bruckheimer action film of that late 90s. The four pieces of music on this release retain Hammer's motifs while greatly expanding on the original material. They all feature a full aggressive orchestra mixed with more contemporary elements such as electronic synths, percussion and live guitar and are very much in the style of Trevor Rabin and Mark Mancina.
