Seems like the CD is the game; an image album where you use the track numbers to play an RPG like game.

I never tried Google Japan before. That could be useful.

Also, there's a copy for sale currently on YJA, so I might be tempted to pick it up.

I think there's actually hardly a difference in the hits you get on the Japanese version of Google versus the English (.com) one, unless you restrict your search to only include English or Japanese language pages of course. I just tried and was able to find the same info on the English Google page as well. Did you do a search using the catalog number, LuxKiller65? I wish Google would make it easier to switch between the different language versions...

Yeah, I wanted to buy the sealed one, but if you are right and this is just a track-based game and not a soundtrack, it's not really my cup of tea. But it's weird then, why is it listed twice in Yahoo under game soundtracks, and on GMR too?

Well, if you use any Google site and just tell it to search using language X, it's the same as using Google Japan. I found the auctions before checking Google, by the way.
