I wonder why some people are saying that the Soundtrack is Out-of-Print? You can order two of the Ocarina of Time Albums still at Play-Asia.com for a fairly cheap price (and it looks like there're not an reprint too).

I just ordered my copies, hope it helps some people who are still searching for it.

Thanks for pointing it out, I added it and I'll try to whip up a translation tomorrow since it differs slightly from the included English tracklist. And if someone could translate the staff credits found on the tray scan that would be great.

I hope you haven't started yet, seanne. I had that one already sitting on my HDD, so I thought I'd drop it here...

A few notes, though: Just now, I realized how Ganondorf's Japanese name ガノンドロフ does not even contain a ル/ru but a ロ/ro instead, hence making "Ganondorf" an impossible romanization. This mirrors the situation with Andruf/"Andorf"/Andross (http://vgmdb.net/forums/showthread.php?p=17921). Several ways to write the name would be Ganondorofu, Ganondorof, Ganondrofu and Ganondrof, of which the last seems to be the most reasonable choice (one can of course use "lo", too, but it sounds ridiculous).


On the Star Fox 64 forum you can see that I solved the Andruf problem using what ultimately turned out to be simple logic. This finding, fortunately, does not impair that one in any way. As for Ganon vs Gannon...

ガノンドロフ = ga-no-n-do-r(o)-f; the o is taken from ド, not ロ, so it's dorf, not drof. The second o is near silent. I suppose that "Ganon" does rhyme with "cannon" (キャノン), but Ganon is said quicker, so the first n sound isn't stressed that much, so it actually rhymes with "canon" and the fact that it's Ganon today, I believe, makes it perfect for all time.

Porky from the Mother series is another good example of this, as his name (ポーキー) was always spelt the same yet he was always meant to be Porky despite being called Pokey in Mother 2. This is further evidence that I prefer Ganon (another official conversion in both the US and Japan) over Gannon every day of the week.

Since the game credits don't list Yoshiko either, I think this is just an error that got out of hand. Go ahead and terminate it.

Yeah, in general, the presentation is really bad. Most notably, this score should've been spread over three or four discs - not shoehorned onto one.

Also, while I assume they omitted the choir portion of "Fire Temple" due to disc space and not wanting to offend folks, "Dinosaur Boss Battle" missing its entire chorus section is a huge letdown - almost completely ruins the song.

Pony Canyon did horrible job with this release.
