The first
Vandal Hearts' timpani comes from the E-mu Proteus 2.
Here is the synthmania 'test' of the sound, and if you compare to the track "Bygone Days 3 (Reen and Keese)", you will notice that the timpani is, indeed, from the Proteus 2. I also suspect that many, many more sounds used in
Vandal Hearts originate with the Proteus 2.
