Oh god, I hope that location test version of Raystorm belongs to that 2D game discovered recently (R-Gear).

Great news! A lot of unreleased Ray materials seem to be coming this way.

Just a heads up, the DX pack is back in stock at Amazon Japan. It came up to $157 for me. I'd suggest getting on this quick if you really want this. I already saw some scalpers on YJA.

I went and copied the tracklist from the ZUNTATA page. For some reason AQUARIUM from RayStorm didn't have a space between the parentheses so I just kept them that way.

That sucks, but it's a really nice set. Too bad the booklet is all in Japanese. At least it's still possible to find it, not like, say, the Nichibutsu extra small print run set.

What's "Album Version"? Why not "PlayStation Version"?

Those are sourced from the 90s albums which used master recordings instead of the in-game audio.

Thanks, I didn't know. So this boxset does not include any PS soundtrack except for 3 tracks on the last disc? They left those out completely, and instead we got plenty of bad remixes. Meh, not impressed by this, too bad.
I know I need to stick to original OST only...

The arcade board actually used Playstation sound hardware so the core soundtrack should be identical. The 3 tracks on the last disc were exclusive to the PS port.

I have the feeling it sounds different, but maybe it's just the output and speakers on my PS2. either way it's very similar, you are right, i was a bit harsh there.

i was less impressed by the 3 OST listening to them on their own. it's those soundtracks that sound more interesting while you're playing the games, at least for me

Should we also add the Famitsu DX bonus items in the photos section? I'm pretty sure they can be found on the wiki site, but I do have the items myself if those pictures would be preferred.

Comes with:

Themed Fan
Signed Shikishi Board
Disc 11
Light up 3-D crystal display
