Default ANZX-12430: Scum's Wish Original Mini Soundtrack Vol.2

Heads-up:

If you're looking at the translations on these tracks and scratching your head, going "that doesn't really add up" (tr7 & tr10 especially) ... most of the track titles on Vol.2 are also episode titles.

So I used the official English episode titles corresponding to those Japanese titles in the translation. I really think they missed the boat on the double-meaning of tr10 in the English translation (it's more like "two stories (of pairs)" than just "a story of two (people)" ... but I'll err on the side of an officially published title whenever I can.

Listing the catalog number in that style would be very inconsistent, since no other Aniplex releases use that style on VGMdb: http://vgmdb.net/org/86

I'm sorry, but I don't think consistency in how we list the style excludes hard facts. The CD comes with that exact catalog # on the bonus CD in both the Bluray and DVD versions. I can confirm this, since the uploaded image (which I did not submit) came from the Bluray release, and it used ZX/ZB on the disc itself. I bought the DVD version, and the disc is listed like that.

Looking through the listings, it looks like there are instances where DVD versions weren't released, so the discs themselves should be ZX-only (example: http://vgmdb.net/album/73855, no DVD version was manufactured), but when a CD comes for LEs of both a Bluray and DVD release, the publisher themselves are making a point of listing the bonus CD as ZX/ZB, almost as a favor to consumers to say "hey, this is the exact same CD, don't worry about which video version you get if you're in it for the music." Shouldn't *we* adapt to the publisher's catalog number, and not the other way around?

What I was trying to point out is that we have ZX-only catalog numbers for other BD/DVD enclosures even when they have had ZX/ZB printed on them.

They do not make point of it, they are not consistent at all when comes it to this. These are all Aniplex BD/DVD enclosures within the past year, and all only have ZX printed on them despite having both BD & DVD editions.

I think it would be confusing to list a different style of catalog numbers for the same thing based on what Aniplex have felt like printing on the disc.

Also, personal opinion, I don't think "ANZX/ZB-12430" should be considered one catalog number at all. It's just a shorter way of writing "ANZX-12430/ANZB-12430" which other manufacturers often do. For example KADOKAWA Anime http://vgmdb.net/org/524, TOHO animation http://vgmdb.net/org/1133

And we just add one catalog number for such entries (corresponding to the BD release), so I think the same should apply here.

when there are bd and dvd with the same cd enclosed, it's normal to see a "double" catalog like that ZB/ZX, why?
because, like that, aniplex just need to print once the cd and can put them in both bd/dvd enclosures
instead of printing 2 different catalogs on 2 different cds (one for bd enclosures, one for dvd enclosures)

formating ANZX/ZB-12430 is just to not write ANZX-12430(for bd)/ANZB-12430(for dvd)

nstz & Phonograph,

You had me at "they are not consistent at all" (and I checked the links to verify your statement).

I understood that ZX/ZB was shorthand for two different cat. #s, but had they done it consistently, I would want to join with them and treat it as a single "release" so to speak. If they're being inconsistent, then yes, perhaps it is our job to have it read nicely. I don't suppose this means we should bother to make child albums for the ZBs? Or just leave that in the notes section.

I edit quite a bit of these anime enclosure entries, and most manufacturers just put the same disc in both BD & DVD enclosures. So I don't think it's necessary to create two entries since it's the exact same disc in most cases.

Aniplex do actually print ANZB and ANZX versions of the enclosure CDs (occassionally you'll find ANZB scans on vgmdb, i.e. http://vgmdb.net/album/55154, http://vgmdb.net/album/53210), but even they seem to be moving away from it now with more "ZX/ZB" marked discs.
