Default Izuho Numata (#1398)

I'm positive this is Ippo Yamada's real name. Thoughts?

I think it will only be possible to confirm if someone asks him directly.

CHz: How does it not make sense? Apparently, the last game he did for Sega was Phantasy Star IV in 1993, and his first project for Capcom was Demons Crest in 1994. That gives him sufficient time to leave Sega to join Capcom.

Revoc: Official confirmation would be nice, yes.

Is it possible that Izuho Takeuchi is a female?
I saw "穂" in some Japanese female names before.
However I don't know anything of "Ippo".

I just googled about "her and this page says below.

Izuho Numata
Worked on many titles released during the Sega Mark III and mid-Genesis era.
Maiden Name is Izuho Takauchi.
Credited as IPPO.
Had a bad experience of being misunderstood as a man, due to that name.

I recently found out that she worked on a 2005 GBA game called Futari wa Precure Max Heart: Maji? Maji!? Fight de IN Janai. (credits on GDRI) This is noteworthy since it would have been 12 years since her last project at that point. (unless she did other stuff that has yet to be discovered)

She's also, oddly enough, credited in one Compile game from 1996: https://vgmdb.net/forums/showthread.php?p=23740

Looking through the results for her Kanji, she also composed Metalgun Slinger for GBA in 2002.
Edit: Both games are developed by Open Sesame so one could look up what other games they did.
Edit2: This is their website. Their list of products is extensive and up to date. happy digging
Edit3: This is way too much fun. The Starship Damrey, a Guild 2 game Open Sesame did for Level 5 and was internationally released as a 3DS eShop title, is also composed by her. For me this is confirmation enough that she's very likely responsible for most if not all of Open Sesame's sound and music work. I'm out now.

wow, thanks for all the info! seems like she's been composing all these years (and continues to do so)

BTW, according to this site, it says she worked on the Genesis version of Ghouls 'n Ghosts? as far as I know, the game doesn't have any audio credits.

About eight years ago, Omar from SMS Power tracked down Numata on Japanese social networking site Mixi. She confirmed doing the following Master System games: Forgotten Worlds, Ys, Aerial Assault (which she referred to as "Freedom Fighter"), Psychic World, Ghouls 'n Ghosts, and Walter Payton Football. She said she worked a little on the Mega Drive version of Battle Out Run and didn't know who did the Master System version, but I'm assuming she was mistaken. (There's only a Master System version, and she's the only one credited.) She also said she did work on the GBA, DS, and Windows.

Wow, she did Walter Payton Football? I tried playing through that only to find there are no credits. Good to know she composed it!

Not sure if that means she worked on it, but she seems to feel very sad about RPG Densetsu Hepoi, an unreleased Mega Drive game based on an anime series.

There's a little bit of confusion about Ippo's sex.
