This is allegedly Daisuke Nagata's doujin Bandcamp? https://kuttsurikai.bandcamp.com It lists k.h.d.n. as an artist name so it's either him or Ko Hayashi.
Oh and hey would you look at that, "james harris" is an artist name there too |

k.h.d.n is also on the first 2 soundtracks KATE is credited for on vgmdb (those Monogatari Saturn/PS1 games). Pretty sure it's safe to say it's Daisuke Nagata.
(Edit: Also more confirmation- https://www21.atwiki.jp/gamemusicbes...ages/3921.html http://maguronotataki.blog.jp/archives/1009635298.html ) Last edited by RRR; Oct 17, 2017 at 09:41 AM. |

The doubt I have is whether that Bandcamp is actually Nagata's, because he's done a good job of separating his real name from the Kuttsurikai identity if so.
Those two links don't really add anything unfortunately. The first one just sourced the Bandcamp as proof in discussion, and the second one is just guessing (although it mentions that some "NUMBER201remix" was called "Uncle Nagata Remix," but it doesn't say what that was and that page is the only search result for that name so I dunno). I found those and a few others (like Discogs) when I was trying to track this one down earlier. |

I sent a message to Kuttsurikai on Bandcamp about a month ago but never got a reply. Not sure what else to do since Nagata doesn't have a website or social media.

Ko Hayashi would probably know (or at least be able to rule himself out), but whether he'd answer a question about that is another matter entirely.

I just noticed that the reference to James Harris was removed from the Bandcamp. Previously the sidebar said:

Yeah, there's nothing conclusive I guess, but everything seems to be connected to Compile before it went defunct. Very interesting.

So... I hit a dead end. There's no personal email address or identifying information in the archives for the website. The only remaining lead would be whois records for kuttsurikai.com, but that info is locked behind a paywall: http://research.domaintools.com/rese...uttsurikai.com
Even then, there's no guarantee that the original 2006 record will have a name. This person has obviously put a great deal of effort into concealing their identity. Maybe it's Nagata, maybe it's not. Seems like we aren't meant to know. |

So... Keita Haga just confirmed this is an alias of Daisuke Nagata in his latest tweet: https://twitter.com/hagakeita/status/978938705648877569

Well, that was easy :P Thanks CHz.
EDIT: from his works page: http://hilsounddesign.wixsite.com/mecanique/artist looks like he worked on Taiko no Tatsujin so I've linked the 石川敏 here https://vgmdb.net/album/31341 Last edited by Illidan; Mar 28, 2018 at 03:48 AM. |
