one heck of a musician! I am currently trying to dig through Shiiba's work history and compile everything he's worked on. So far I've pieced this together:
Confirmed: 2002 RPG Maker 2003 2006 English Training: Have Fun Improving Your Skills! 2006 Rhythm Tengoku (under "Music Arrangement") 2008 Fossil Fighters (w/ Asuka Ito) 2008 MaBoShi: The Three Shape Arcade 2008 Daigasso! Band Brothers DX / Jam with the Band (w/ Shunsuke Tsuchiya) 2009 Excitebike: World Rally 2009 Tomodachi Collection (w/ Asuka Ito) 2011 Swapnote/Nintendo Letter Box Speculative: Wii Photo Channel Wii Weather Channel Nintendo 3DS Camera Last edited by Blitz Lunar; Dec 10, 2012 at 05:32 AM. |

I just found this random site called "Nintendo Software DataBase," which has release info and occasionally credits dumps for mostly recent Nintendo games. As I said, I just found it, so I haven't really vetted it for accuracy, but it seems generally on the level, insofar as I've checked the sound credits for a few games I know and they've been right.
So anyway! This site purportedly has credits for Moyasu Puzzle Flame Tail, a DSiware version of one of the games from MaBoShi: http://okarat.s334.xrea.com/nsdb/index.php?itemid=342. Shiiba's in it: Music Basiscape Manabu Namiki Miki Ito Solid Tune Tatsuya Fujiwara Seiichi Takamoto Music Daisuke Shiiba Sound Effects Hiromitsu Fujikawa Voice Norihide Sasaki Sound Supervisor Kenji Yamamoto I'm not sure all of the "music" credits are for composition, since Miki Ito as far as I know hasn't ever composed for a game: her works are SFX, sound programming, management, etc. Namiki lists the game for composition, manipulation, and direction, and Solid Tune claims some BGM and sound data conversion for the game on their works list. Shiiba worked on the original MaBoShi, so maybe he's just being credited for reprises of his music, or maybe he actively worked on this too. Speculate away about why there are two "music" headers! (Simple explanation: the music credits were too long to fit on one screen, so Shiiba's on another one.) Last edited by CHz; Mar 8, 2017 at 03:08 PM. |

This guy is extremely good! Extremely catchy melodies.
A "new" Kazumi Totaka, perhaps? |

Does anybody know what's up with Shiiba? He hasn't been credited in any games since Style Savvy Trendsetters (other than a "Special Thanks" mention in Tomodachi Life). Did he leave Nintendo?

Shiiba is, uh, apparently writing string quartet music for random PC games now https://soundcloud.com/dshiiba/pp-xfd
So I think it is probably safe to say he is no longer employed at Nintendo. |

Maybe this is not really relevant as of now, but I think that is Hiromitsu Fujikawa (although he actually goes by 博光 instead of 浩光, but the original page is defunct so I can't check if it was originally misspelled).

Yep. The name is 浩光 in the end credits of Tomodachi Life though, I'm not sure Kyoto Report is correct here. I've seen other wrong Japanese names there, like 康明 for Yasuaki Iwata.
(The pic on that profile is taken from this Facebook account, and I don't know if that's actually him, but if it is, then it also gives the name as 浩光...) |

Mr. Shiiba tells me that he left Nintendo in 2013.
Edit: He stylizes his name as "Daisuke SHIIBA" everywhere, so I changed his display name to that. Last edited by cal; Feb 14, 2018 at 05:25 AM. |
