Best VG music for medievil music?

In the veins of Castlevania, memorable themes and riffs. Not necessarily orchestral or cinematic like Skyrim, Elden ring etc. I’m looking for something from the 80’s-early 2000’s.

How about Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles which uses actual instruments from the era (or at least just after it)?

Not sure if it is what you are looking for but KnightShift comes to mind and has a nice and soothing medieval/fantasy soundtrack.

I’m looking for something more retro, animated, from the NES-early 2000’s era. Not so cinematic sounding.

I'd say Diablo II, but that's not a good fit as that is more cinematic.

However, if you're mentioning Castlevania, I'd suggest The Mummy Demastered.

You could also try Ari Pulkkinnen's soundtracks to Trine or Benny Oschmann's to The Book of Unwritten Tales.

All pretty "cinematic" though ...
