There's been some editing to the tracktimes, so I was wondering about the source for the latest submission. Was it taken from measurements on the actual CD?
I don't know if we've stated it anywhere, but the actual time supersedes anything that is on the back of the album, because the times are needed for estimating the discid for Freedb searches. |

Counting up the individual track times on the cover, I noticed that they added up to 25:29. The six second gap between it and the total time of 25:35 is due to roundoff error from the following seven tracks that I discovered when I borrowed a copy of the OST and played the tracks in iTunes:
prologue, Who are you?, darkness, Queen, continue, Entity, and ICO -You were there- NOTE: Highlighting all the tracks also gave me 25:29 I just rounded them up (+1 above booklet time) or down (same as booklet time) based on what second each of them leaned closer to. The first six leaned upward, the last leaned downward, therefore solving the mystery of the six second gap. Last edited by kyubihanyou; Apr 5, 2010 at 06:06 PM. |

I think rounded time would ultimately be closer. We don't have support for the fractional time yet, though I think eventually we will. There is a few second leeway built into the Disc ID calculation, so it can withstand some differences. You can also manually enter the true Disc ID on the media table.
Mostly though, I'd stress that we have to fix the errors in the times off of the album jacket in order to identify the CD correctly. |
