Starfleet has a test all aspiring captains must take, whose purpose is to measure one's character against a challenge that is, by design, impossible. To see the true colors of one's soul in the face of unsurmountable odds and certain failure.

They call it the Kobayashi Maru, after one such impossible challenge. Its terms are as follows: a symphonic prog metal band must record an album that pays proper tribute to the breadth and depth of Keiki Kobayashi and his team's work on the soundtrack to the Ace Combat series... *But it can only be 10 tracks long.*

*Anthems of Liberation* is that album, as attempted by the Tiberian Sons. It will not -- it *can not* -- be anywhere near enough. Despite that failure, it's still just plane awesome.
