"I have to say, working on Viva Piñata was one of my favourite projects. It was the first time that I got to use live orchestra and I really didn't know what to expect. All the preparation for the sessions went well with the awesome Nic Raine, who did all the orchestration for me, and has been a friend ever since, but nothing prepares you for that first note when they start to play your music ….. truly breathtaking!

I think I shed a tear after the first few notes of Island Welcome, it was fantastic to hear my music being played by real people, they bring it all to life in a way that only humans can.

I remember at the end of the sessions for Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise, the last piece to get recorded was Bedtime Story and James Fitzpatrick, who was the orchestral contractor, said I should go into the recording room and thank the orchestra. I got up on the podium and started to say how much I loved their playing but burst into tears before I could get the words out, I think they got the point … haha!
Getting a BAFTA nomination for this score was just incredible, as a Brit I'd seen the awards ceremony over the years but never dreamt I'd be a part of it, truly something I'll remember forever.
