Special thanks to all of our Kickstarter backers and other supporters who helped to make this project a reality!

Additional information:
We have organized the music as follows: Folders indicating the year of release and game title, each containing another two folders for the file format (FLAC or MP3) and finally the audio files themselves. The files are named in a way to maintain the order of the music as it would appear in the games (with the exception of jingles - more about that below). You could for example copy the FLAC files of all games into one big folder on your hard drive and they would still retain their order.
Jingles are very short music pieces that indicate completed levels etc. in the game. The jingles and some other bonus tracks are stored in their own folder, because we felt that they interfered somewhat with the flow of the longer pieces. Of course, since you can freely move or rename files and folders on the USB Stick, you may at any time change the way they are organized to your liking. Please note that this USB drive is not write-protected, so we strongly recommend making a backup.
About the audio files: FLAC is a lossless audio codec that allows to reduce the file size of PCM WAV files by about 40% on average. It can be played back with many popular players on PC, Mac and other operating systems. For Windows users, we recommend Winamp as one of the easiest and most compatible players. MP3 on the other hand is a “lossy” codec, which means it reduces the file size by a higher factor, by leaving out some audio information. The quality depends on the chosen bit rate and there is always a trade-off between the rate and the memory used. We decided to encode the files in 256kbit, which results in about 1/6 of the original file size (great for loading them onto smartphones or other portable media players), while maintaining a very high audio quality. Of course you could always re-convert the FLAC files into other codecs or bit rates that you prefer.
