"I was quite sad when Suda51 wrote on his twitter account that Masato Masuda passed early April 2014 at the age of 48. Masato Masuda was the creator of the "Fire Pro Wrestling" game series. He single handedly also produced the original Famicom Disk System version of "Pro Wrestling" before the founding of developer Human Entertainment. I have been a huge fan of the "Fire Pro" series even before it officially arrived in the West. I probably spent more hours playing Super Famicom's "Super Fire Pro Wrestling Premium X" than any other version. It was so much ahead of it's time, featuring dozens of wrestlers, game mode and a very deep character creation mode. This small tribute EP cover music from the first game that arrived in the west, Game Boy Advance's "Fire Pro Wrestling A"(note: there is no "A" in the western title) and also a track from NES "Pro Wrestling" for nostalgia sake. Truly the series is the greatest 2D wrestling video game ever produced and it never had any official license! I miss Human a lot.
