"These albums are done to pay homage to great soundtracks while doing very little arrangement of the original material; one instrument is recorded for each of the channels of the original NES soundtrack--a note-for-note performance of the original composition (with the drums embellished a bit). Each track was recorded at the exact same tempo as its original counterpart so that it will perfectly lay on top of the game.
The Legend of Zelda has one of the most iconic video game soundtracks of all time, composed by one of the greatest composers of video game music of all time. Kondo's work helped to set this game, not to mention the entire series, apart from its contemporaries."
