Music composed, arranged, performed, and produced by Lee Jackson.
Spoken word by Lee Jackson and Jake "The Voice" Parr

Calibrations is Lee Jackson's debut solo album. Nine of the songs on it were first heard with the Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour, episode five (Alien World Order) in 2016. The other three, "Beehive," "Fish Waltz," and "Spicewood," have never been publicly performed before.

"Beehive" got its beginnings as a test track back in 1996 or so. It didn't quite pass muster back then, but a reworking in 2017 turned the song into a very different product. "Busy as a beehive" was the composer's first thought upon completion: frantic guitars and keyboards, solo organs answered by drums, and a powerful bass line, all linked by a flying theme throughout the song.

"Fish Waltz" is a throwback to Jackson's earlier goofy composition, "Fish Polka" from the Apogee game Rise of the Triad. It's also a lesson in being careful with what you ask for. When Jackson was working on the Duke Nukem 3D extension, a developer needed music for a French level. Unfortunately, he couldn't come up with much in the way of guidance for Jackson to follow. "Give me bistro music" was about as much as Jackson got, so he took the idea and ran with it, much to the level designer's chagrin. The bistro music obviously never made it into the game, but it is presented here, complete with a link to the "stupid little fish" that the great Tom Hall drew which started the entire thing.

"Spicewood" is unlike any of the other songs on the album. It is ambient, reminiscent of days gone by when one could sit outside and just enjoy sitting outside at the end of the day. It is dedicated to Jackson's late grandfather and grandmother, who lived in the community of Spicewood, Texas, on the shores of Lake Travis.

Track 13 is an interview of Lee Jackson, conducted overseas by Jake "The Voice" Parr. In it, Jackson explains much of the above and gives insights into his music writing process.

Track 14 is a reading of the liner notes and track list for buyers of the digital-only release.
