Ophelia's Vision
Credits
Notes"Ophelia's Vision" covers the lilting main theme "Ophelia" from Elsinore, a time-looping adventure game set in the world of Shakespeare's Hamlet.
"Ophelia" composed by Adam Gubman. From the arrangers: Ian: One of my favorite things is to see how video game music can be turned into Irish tunes. I first heard this done by Máire Breatnach for the Final Fantasy IV Celtic Moon arrange album, and it's since become something that I've done several times across different The Travelers VGM albums. I felt as though the melody of Ophelia worked well as a slipjig, and that's how I've presented it in this arrangement. I hope you enjoy! Josh: This track is quite out of my comfort zone as I had not done covers of music in Elizabethan period music. And like most challenges, I dove right in! I wanted the first half to sound tender, yet mysterious and foreboding in comparison to Ian's upbeat slipjig portion. The real challenge was to present something new to set it apart from the already wonderful original, so I added some elaboration in phrases and used the Flute and Violin to have some interplay in their parts. I imagined the flute and violin to be our narrators to the story that will unfold. I really hope you enjoy and may you check out more from The Travelers VGM!
