Blasterhead started as a unit of Akihiro Ito and three other people, but eventually the other members left, leaving it as a solo project of Ito. At some point later, Taishi joined and it became a unit again; his first known work under the Blasterhead name was ere daybreak-e.p. [BHEP02], released in December 2007.

Blasterhead has had no new works since Ito's disappearance in 2013.
