Sayonara Ponytail is a sound-only music project formed in 2009, featuring musicians, visual artists, and a production team. Since they do not officially appear live, all of the members are depicted as illustrations in a fantasy world.

The original vocalists are named Miina, Ayumin, and Nacchan, and two new vocalists - Shuka and Yuyu - were added after their major label debut in 2012. Additionally, the original vocalist for Ayumin departed and was recast in 2013.

The songwriting and production team consists of Kuroneko, 324P, Fukkun, Maumau, and Megu. Additional members in charge of promotion are credited as S-chan and Megane-kun.

Originally, the group included an official illustrator (referred to as "gods"). The first god was Yuritan, who left the group in 2013. The second god was Chiitan, who left the group in 2016. Subsequent releases have been illustrated by guest artists.
