Kentaro Haneda was a classically trained composer and arranger for Japanese media. Famous for The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, the Wizardry series and the Grand Symphony Yamato. In 1984 he wrote the Grand Symphony Yamato, performed by the NHK Symphony Orchestra. In 1985 he wrote a symphonic poem for Kingdom of the Flower Crown Dragon. In 1989 he arranged a symphonic album for the game Sorcerian. He was one of the pioneers of orchestral game music. In 1993 he arranged a symphonic suite for the Ys game series. He died of liver cancer at age 58.
