Famous for Cowboy Bebop, Escaflowne, Ghost in the Shell and NHK Taiga Drama Ladylord Naotora. She writes music in various styles, from Jazz to 20th Century Film and Classical music, collaborating with many skilled artists, from singers to instrumentalists. In 1991 she composed for an art gallery show conducted by Fujishiro Seiji and entitled the Merchen Collection, composed of painted pictures of the world creation. In the 90s she worked on various Koei Games and is one of the pioneers of orchestral video game music. In 1994 she recorded with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra for Macross Plus. In 1996 she recorded with the Members of the Czech Philharmonic and the Prague Philharmonic Choir for Magnetic Rose. In 1998 she worked with The Seatbelts on Cowboy Bebop. She had a longlasting collaboration with the Warsaw Philharmonic National Orchestra of Poland: Nobunaga's Ambition, Turn A Gundam, Escaflowne, Ghost in the Shell, Brain Powerd, Song to Fly, Wolf's Rain, Genesis of Aquarion and Macross Frontier. In 2013 she recorded with the Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra for the TV series Gochisousan. In 2017 she recorded with the NHK Symphony Orchestra for NHK Taiga Drama Ladylord Naotora. In 2019 she composed and conducted a symphonic piece for the new Emperor of Japan in the first year of Reiwa.
