Lia is a J-Pop singer, famous for her work with the visual novel AIR, with songs such as Tori no Uta (鳥の詩) and Farewell song. She has also done work for Tomoyo After, beatmania IIDX, the MMORPG RFOnline Japanese version, and the anime Initial D fourth stage. Lia is first heard on the compilation album I’ve Girls Compilation vol. 2. She has her own solo career with many critical acclaimed albums and singles.

She uses the alias "LIA" (in capital letters) when providing vocals for hardcore music.

She's also the voicebank provider for the Vocaloid 3 unit "IA", with her name from Lia's name.
