Hiromichi Nakamoto joined DATA EAST in 1985 after graduating from university, becoming a part of the company's hardware division. When DATA EAST began developing for the Nintendo Famicom, Nakamoto became involved with sound, creating sound drivers and music for "B-Wings" and "Bump 'n' Jump". He later became a game designer at the company, and was known to the media as the Famicom expert "Doctor Nakamoto".
