Joined the Kansai Symphony Orchestra (curr. Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra) in 1955 after graduating university, then becoming part of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra five months later.
When the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1962, Miyake joined that group as well.
Started the Kunitachi Chamber Players in 1983.
Transferred to the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra in 1991, playing with them until departing in 1998.
