Longer answer: Shin Sangokumusou is the first game in a series that has some loose ties to an earlier game, Sangokumusou. This game was erroneously localized as "Dynasty Warriors 2", because Koei America were (are?) a bunch of dummies. For some reason, they decided that a wildly different kind of game altogether needed to be a direct sequel to a game that I cannot imagine selling better/having any greater presence in the US or Europe than in Japan.

What's more, Koei America did this again with the Orochi games. So-called "Warriors Orochi 2" is clearly a standalone expansion to the first game in all the ways that matter. So when the actual sequel (Musou Orochi 2) came out, they called it "Warriors Orochi 3" like a bunch of dummies, and this has persisted ever since.

This is the same company responsible for birthing those horrible dubs that are so obnoxiously bad, it activated some kind of overflow bug programmed into some of the equally obnoxious "fans" surrounding this series, leading to this group genuinely being upset when these dubs are made fun of, or when someone tries to do an undub, etc.

Honestly, this series never should have been localized, especially considering how pretty much no game in the series gets reviewed properly. Koei simply should not bothered at all, in the face of all this disrespect. Oh well.
