One thing that I always casually noticed about this album was how "open" the mix is. I always thought it was bass-boosted, because it always gave my speakers a workout, but it's like it extends throughout the whole range on a good system. It's pretty effortless to hear everything going on in the midrange. I'm not sure if it's like a faux-surround, but I love it. When a track from this pops up on random, it immediately sticks out. It CAN be a bit much on the brighter tracks, but it makes the atmospheric stuff just pop (which is good because there's a lot of it!). I love listening to Reflection Hall on speakers.

And Tomozawa went HARD on Concerto of Hapshi Code. I feel like there has to be a backstory to this. That would have made a great theme for the Bonnes.

I remember buying the game when it came out because of the IP and just kind of going with it. It was like a weird dream of jumbled but fun ideas. Better than the sum of its parts. It was also helped because, coming from the 16 bit realm, it was a completely different experience. The airship fight was particularly memorable.
