not to dilute the subject matter of the thread too much, but i can say that i listen to soundtracks to all sorts of things without having experienced them in context. probably about 20% or less of VGM i listen to is from games i've played. i don't think i'd
pay for something blind these days, though i think i did that a few times when i was younger...

that's how i feel... not sure why... i guess because i grew up with it, so the classic style and approach deeply appeals to me.
