Nah, in that post I was talking about the word "upper" by itself. The important part is that the "pper" sound in "upper" is usually ッパー, not ップル.
The Japanese title runs the
n into the word "up"; instead of "burn up" as separate words (バーン アップ), it's more like "burn-nup." I was ignoring that to focus on the word. In the style of the title, "burn-upper" would be like バーンナッパー.
