actually, I think he mistook the kun-reading of 鶴 (tsuru, crane) that can become dzuru when it's used as suffix for certain words (kaku and zu [from 田鶴 (tazu)] being two other kun-readings)

EDIT: or rather 日出ヅル != 日本ヅル
