What? Considering Shimomura and Abe composed the original arcade version, Nishimura & Sakaguchi are most definitely credited towards sound design/sound effects/arrangement for the SNES version.

Not to mention, if you were to use your "primary sources of information" you would see that Nishimura is almost always credited under sound effects.
