Well they DID post an update a few months ago with a (really generic) gameplay video and posted one less than a month ago with another "we're sorry for no communication but we're still working on it".
And if it DOES actually come out there's no reason to assume Sakimoto won't have worked on it.
(I'm not holding my breath though)
