KADOKAWA has undergone several restructurings that were not represented on vgmdb.
On Oct 1, 2013 several KADOKAWA subsidiaries including ASCII MEDIA WORKS Inc., ENTERBRAIN, INC., Kadokawa Shoten Publishing Co., Ltd. and Media Factory, Inc. were absorbed by KADOKAWA CORPORATION.

On Oct 1 2014, KADOKAWA DWANGO CORPORATION was established from the merger of KADOKAWA and DWANGO, and KADOKAWA CORPORATION became a subsidiary of it.
On July 1 2019 KADOKAWA CORPORATION was renamed to KADOKAWA Future Publishing. At the same time KADOKAWA DWANGO CORPORATION was renamed and became the "new" KADOKAWA CORPORATION.
As of ZMCZ-13171 the new "KADOKAWA Future Publishing" company does not appear to be used on releases. It still uses the plain KADOKAWA imprint (
