The majority of their releases are lathe cuts (and not pressed vinyl) and tape releases, which are relatively cheap and fast to make. To my knowledge these are not (or at least only poorly) mastered for the format. They are just in it for easy profit and it's working.

Legally I'm pretty sure there's no advantage of pirating one format over the other - it's copyright infringement all the same.
