My own support for the "featured" checkbox is simply for cases where there are no new compositions by that composer on this album. If nothing new is composed, then they are not actually composing, and thus their prior compositions are merely "featured" on this album. Perhaps they may be involved with arranging or producing this album, but not composing. The only exception would be thus: when an old composition never appeared in album form prior to the release of this album, it would be treated as a new composition.
There are very few cases where this type of information is explicitly stated, but I feel this is a useful tool to have available. By using our best judgement, I feel we can make the implied information rather accurate.
And before someone attacks this idea simply for not being official, just think of all the unofficial tracklist translations we have all over the site. ;}
