When you make something available online, that is 'shipped' online, the physical location of your intended market is any place where a computer is connected to the internet.

With iTunes, it does make a difference. iTunes is regionally locked, meaning that you have to have a credit card/gift card based in a certain region to use it. Record companies still try to control distribution, even though it's gotten next to impossible with the internet.
