I had to change my Samsung BD player settings to output in "PCM" as if it's set to DTS or DD it will give no sound or lossy compressed. Be sure to change the output to PCM as the album tracks are all uncompressed PCM.

You can also test the diff audio used for movies, if PCM doesn't play but DD does you know the problem.
