I'm a total scan beginner and want other members to share know-how...
Wouldn't it be better to keep the scan size smaller so that dust and moiré become less noticeable? I feel a 600 dpi scan provides too much needless detail even if we can zoom out it later by scrolling the mouse, and the thumbnail as a default cover sometimes looks pretty bad.
Also, does anybody trim particles of dirt on the black background, or delete white blank space on the verge which I guess is the reflection of the scanner bed cover (such as
this)?
