One day, a beam of light descends onto the world.
Incidentally, Cloud, Squall and Tida (Tidus) happened to be in the vicinity so they are ordered to investigate this light.
When they arrive however, they find only a young man who had lost his memories.
This young man not being an entity that had been summoned by the Gods nor knowing anyone, all are perplexed by his existence.
But via this encounter, the situation takes an unexpected turn.
