What is the rationale behind these boxes anyway? Do the labels "premium", "platinum" and "consumer" mean something?

Is there a particular reason for Consumer disc 2 to be called "sega classic" despite it being de facto Compile material?

And finally, who had the chance to see the content of the dvds, and again why release these superplays along the music? It all seems so random to me, I fail to see what was Scitron thinking.
