Hi guys,
My name is Tom & I am the Founder/Music Director of the newly founded Manchester Video Game Orchestra. I would like to share with you an exciting new project that the orchestra are involved in whilst we are all isolating ourselves at home.
The situation surrounding the outbreak of COVID-19 has so far had a detrimental impact on artists like myself, causing all live performance to come to a sudden halt. Therefore, I would like to share with you our Virtual Orchestra project. The idea is basically for members of the orchestra to record themselves on whatever device they own and send it into myself for editing. The end product is a multitrack/split screen performance of a piece.
So far, we have produced two virtual performances. A medley from CTR: Crash Team Racing and a short chamber ensemble arrangement of the theme from The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (links below). If you are interested in keeping up to date with the project then by all means take a look at our social media pages. The MVGO Facebook page contains recordings from our debut performance back in February.
