That video seems to be suggesting the opposite of what's been said here: that the original album releases were uncompressed, unlike the in-game PS2 and remaster versions.
EDIT: I think I've misunderstood the entire discussion. The complaints about the remaster using compressed audio just like the original is pertaining to the game itself only and not the OST releases. That comparison video is accurate to the original CDs that I have (I've never played the game to compare before). The original files being lost pertains to two things: the newly-released tracks on this set, and the in-game variations on battle theme riffs and such - if they don't have those, I can see them just going with what they had for the PS2 version.
