I think he meant with the dash as "Yu-ichi," as opposed to "Yuichi." It's not really wrong, since the dash is just one way to indicate that the
u a long vowel (alternatively "Yuuichi," "YĆ«ichi," etc.). In the
credits of One Piece: Unlimited Adventure he's credited as "Yuichi," though, so I swapped his name to that.

I'm curious myself. The game seems like a real outlier for him, but the Japanese name in the booklet is the same. It's certainly possible he did it before joining Ganbarion, which was founded after TFV was released.
