Sorry for the bump but there's another odd thing about Masayuki Nagao that might be just a coincidence but I don't know for sure.
For Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, Nagao is credited for doing the music on both the Game Gear and Genesis versions along side with Masanori Hikichi (although I think Nagao did the Gamegear with someone else specifically I forget). However, there's someone else with the last name Nagao on some of Compile's games credits list. And to make matters worse, this other Nagao's name appears on the original Megadrive Puyo Puyo game for BGM credits (from which Mean Bean Machine was based on). This person's name is Einosuke Nagao. We even have a picture of Einosuke Nagao from 1995.
