The goal is not to replace, there are a handful of users in IRC that were averse to discord for some reason. It may naturally end up doing that over time since the barrier to entry for IRC is much higher than discord and discord is far more popular, especially within gaming communities. I will join both for as long as they are relevant or until one or the other is sunset. It’s ultimately not my decision to make and will leave that to staff/admins.
