Default Arcade Soundtracks - Lost in Translation

Hi,

I should introduce myself! I'm XtC, main contributor to the Amiga nostalgia site 'ExoticA' (est. 1997), which used to be about Amiga game music but has since expanded to cover other areas. Part of the expansion to site included switching to a wiki system so everyone can help!

One new section is called 'Lost in Translation' (LiT) and currently deals with arcade games that have been ported to home consoles, computers and handhelds. A good example of this section are the pages for 'Out Run' and 'The Ninja Warriors'.

The LiT section is there to show graphically how the original games looked and (back on topic) how they sounded, by providing full soundtrack recordings from emulated versions, including games with CDDA tracks.

I'm slowly working through the 1,100+ list of games and, where applicable, linking back to VGMdb if the arcade game had an official soundtrack. We're also insisting that any recordings from MAME have the tracks named to match the albums found on this site.

We are not including any recordings from the official soundtrack albums, instead using emulators to save audio to WAV - but I think you get the idea.

Anyway, just wanted to say thank you to everyone for contributing to VGMdb which ExoticA will be referring back to, time and time again!

Cheers!
