Hmm, probably not really what you're looking for, but I really like the music for 'Ace Combat'. It's aerial combat / warfare, so I think it classifies as 'war music'.
It's definitely epic music, a lot of orchestral fused with synth - especially the tracks by Keiki Kobayashi are noteworthy.
