I'm really sorry for reviveing this thread, but I've just registered to post here. Heya!
My MP3tag VGMdb script just pulls both the English and Japanese tags for the same album and I have to manually sort out which one I want and sometimes the 日本語 titles are just some half-width katakana with some gibberish symbols.
So I wanted to tag my music with the foobar freedb tagger, but no luck.
I have even tried using these settings:

When I click retrieve on the settings I get "An error occured while trying to retrieve a server list from vgmdb.net.
DNS error: could not resolve "vgmdb.netcddb"
Can anyone help me?
