My problem with the clearfile is it has a sticker on it, so it looks like the packaging would be ruined if I opened it. I could still scan the front while it's in the packaging though.

If I'd risk ruining something I paid money for, I'd just leave it and maybe try and take a decent photo of it instead. Scans just aren't that important that you should risk damaging stuff.
