Heck yeah, now all those Arranged BGM packs by various artists are finally getting released.

I've added the tracklist and arrangers from Konamistyle.
Konami fans may want to check the names... Samples be here. Some day I'll try to compile here a list with the original composers. (probably). Dunno about Otomedius composers though. Otomedius G (Xbox360) staff: http://www.geocities.jp/bgrtype/gsl/...tomediusg.html About the tracklist: - Twinbee tracks are retranslated and don't always correspond 100% to older albums (I'll fix those some time) - For 1-08 I'm not sure what 首都高高架下 means (I think it's something like 'under the highest pass (ie. a bridge) of the city'), I'll have to recheck it. EDIT: whoa, this album actually has credits, unlike every other recent Konami release. Is this the IGA effect? (since he's credited as the producer...) Last edited by Dag; May 16, 2011 at 01:00 PM. |

The initial press was recalled because some tracks were swapped or wrongly included, and now fixed copies with a slightly different tracklist are seemingly being delivered... probably under the same catalog number. Should we set this entry to Recalled and then submit another entry? |

Did any copies make it into circulation? If so, then yeah we should probably have two entries.

That's why Konami has sent an exchange offer to every purchaser.

I wonder if anyone will keep the old misprinted copy. Would be an interesting collectors item. But yeah, that means we should have a separate entry.

Well, I had someone order a copy for me from Konamistyle, and asked that it be shipped to me before I found out about this, so we'll see if I get an outdated copy. Chances are that I won't be sending it back.
Edit: Never mind. It turned out that my copy didn't get ordered. Last edited by Crash; May 16, 2011 at 05:38 PM. |

The scans list one more track in disc 1 (1-34), compared with the list in Konamistyle.
Maybe the old tracklist was the one used in the initial pressing. So I've left if renamed "(old)", in case we can confirm and reuse it later. EDIT: actually, Konamistyle had the changes detailed: http://www.konamistyle.jp/info/impor...le=topnews0418 I've added the info to the notes, though probably this deserves a "recalled" entry, if somebody wants to go ahead. On my copy of Otomedius it's catalog number is LC1852-54. Mine is the revised version with the correct tracklisting. But currently the catalog number for Otomedius is LC-1852~4. I'm not sure if the misprinted copies have a different catalog number or are the same.

LC-1852~4 is the same catalogue number, just standardized based on our submission guidelines.

From what I've read on the Gradius Homeworld forums, the misprinted soundtrack actually contains different music, and not misnamed tracks.
http://www.gamestone.co.uk/gradius/f...ead.php?t=3243 DEAR BLUE caught my attention, of any of them. And it also looks like FLY HIGH made it through to the final disc, as well. The problem is, it's hard to find anybody with the original print who'd be willing to share the unused music. From the looks of it, the guys at Gamestone might not release them, and anyone else who'd have it would probably be Japanese, so making the comparisons for the unused songs, such as the ending, sounds like it'd be pretty hard without any connections. I really want to hear DEAR BLUE, though, just for the sake of it. The only other option would be looking online for an auction, though it'd probably have to be Japanese. Looking at some old 2ch type posts, it appears they knew the whole time something was wrong with the soundtrack, while westerners didn't catch it at first (or a least not very many). Therefore, a Japanese auction would probably list that it was the original discs and not the reprint (and then jack up the price since it's probably now a collector's item), while an English auction probably wouldn't tell you either way. I think I even found one that still lists ALL IS VANITY as DEAR BLUE on EBay, even though it probably is the former (and used) song. So it comes down to taking that chance, really. |

Thanks, I've added the incorrect print and info here:
http://vgmdb.net/album/26358 The track times for the two changed tracks are probably incorrect, if somebody can fix them. I wonder why they didn't simply include every track, used or not. |

There is a seller on eBay with a few of these for sale. Catalog number LC-1852-54. Not sure if it's accurate or not so it'd be taking a chance but in his tracklist on the auction page it lists DEAR BLUE as track 17... Not sure... Could be the one you mentioned DrJoe.

I think I see the auction you're referring to.
I've found a sure-fire way to tell (or almost sure fire). If disc one is listed to have 34 tracks instead of 35, it's most likely the original, regardless of how many sites/torrents/whatever lists Character Ending as "Ending" and ALL IS VANITY as DEAR BLUE, a misdirection that'll probably catch up with people in the end (despite there being a video specifically for All is Vanity on Youtube for well over a year now). The auction does list 34 tracks on the first disc, but I get the feeling the seller may have copied an outdated tracklist (or the wrong one entirely). There's no way to tell without opening it first, so I'm going to ask the seller a couple of questions (such as when did s/he get the discs). Last edited by Myrkul; Jun 3, 2011 at 10:11 AM. |

Excellent, I actually convinced the seller to relist those after they originally ended. I plan on buying one this weekend regardless.

I'm still asking questions as of now. I just need him/her to answer one more before I'll know for certain (though s/he mentioned getting them from Konamistyle between April - May, so I dunno. Having researched this a bit, anybody who got the first print received them more like late March/early April).
Also, at any rate, the unused ending doesn't resemble anything in the final. I can confirm it's a totally different song, in style as well. |

Wow, I also just noticed that this game is coming out in the States for $50 with an art book, a pillowcase AND a soundtrack!!! Looks like I'll be spending $50 soon.

It is unknown for the moment if the soundtrack is a physical disc or just some kind of DLC bonus.

I actually ordered from that Amazon special on Friday or so. Mostly for the art book and because it just seemed so cheap that I couldn't pass it up (Otome X itself seems cheap compared to most other games). I think I glazed over the part about a soundtrack. I have to wonder what it could possibly be having never released Otome G overseas. One assumption is that it's a Best of Otomedius, pulling specific tracks from the original 3 disc OST, if that.
If it is a "best of", does that still get added to this site's database? Also, still no answer from the seller, for anyone who's actually paying this auction business any attention. :P |

Well, like I said, I bought one and it's on it's way. I'll post when I get it and let you know.
And I say the pack-in OST gets it's own entry here.

I finally got the reply. Sorry to say, it's just the reprint. S/He mentioned, by the way, just copying the tracklist from off the internet, just as I suspected. Like I said, an Asian auction would be the better bet.
But at least you've got a solid soundtrack coming your way otherwise. Depending on what's on the Otomedius X bonus sountrack (which is indeed a single disc), you probably got the better end of the deal. |

Got it today. It is indeed the reprint. One interesting thing though, the artwork came all upside down. :/ Had to open the case up and flip the insert over.

For the curious, the original ending, FLY HIGH and DEAR BLUE are all up on YouTube under the channel of OTOMESOUND.
Naoki Maeda still kicks arse. That is all. |

If anyone is still curious >_> I picked up the game today and the bonus soundtrack is all made up of tracks from this OST. So no new music on there.
